Mission accomplished: Upgraded Cement mill of GermanCement commissioned

– Cement production capacity increased by over 40% – Fastest loading system in the market –

GermanCement LLC Georgia (GCG) together with Sustained Visions (SUSVI) from Germany, NBLE from Belgium and PSA-Automation from Germany have successfully accomplished the upgrade of the cement mill of GermanCement in Kaspi, Georgia.

Cement Mill 1 at GCG has been converted from open circuit to closed circuit process by implementing a new feeding system and 3rd generation separator. This was necessary in order to meet the increased requirements of the market in terms of product quality.
In addition a new state-of-the–art and fully automated loading system has been installed to ensure fast and efficient service to GCG’s customers. Customer trucks can now be loaded under 15 min and can be turned around under 25 min from entering the plant to leaving it with the loaded truck.

The project has been executed under difficult surrounding conditions, namely the peaktime of the Covid pandemic, which has once again presented the project team with major challenges. In order to protect the employees and customers of GCG, extensive protection and security concepts have been implemented. As an example, regular extensive Covid tests were carried out in order to keep the infection rates low and to be able to isolate positive cases quickly. This ensured that the pandemic only slightly affected the planned project flow.

The key equipment for the mill and the loading system was supplied by NBLE from Belgium. The process control and automation system was designed and configured by Susvi and PSA Automation GmbH, Germany. SUSVI is cooperating closely with GCG since 2018 and has been assisting in the project development, project execution as well as in quality control and commissioning of the plant.
